Lethal Dose Of Alprazolam Is There A Way To Determine The Lethal Dose Of A Medicine?

Is there a way to determine the lethal dose of a medicine? - lethal dose of alprazolam

I'm doing a project on the effects of prescription painkillers and drug overdose. Is there a specific way to find the lethal dose of them? I know that for some (like ibuprofen) for a particular lethal dose is available) but some (like acetominphen and codeine, I'm sure there must be a database is poison.

I think you should be able, an LD50 for almost any compound that is toxic, including most of the available drugs. You can try to find the MSDS to compounds. The LD50 is the dose that kills 50% of the tested animals. I do not know if what you want to be able to help but ...

Some drugs have published an LD50 (dose that kills half the test subjects) in their animal studies. It is bad form to go than to kill people in order to find this information, which is rarely published. With a bad experience do you have a vague idea, but individual differences are surprisingly large, and the number of subjects in which reliable information is limited. Fragments of information can be found in the Democratic Republic and others available to a large extent be retrieved references, and standard toxicology texts, but if you are looking for a simple table is likely to be disappointed.
