It is very painful and pain relievers do not help. I had over a year and the doctor was slow to diagnose it until I was in a critical manner.

Deep vein thrombosis or DVT is caused by a blood clot in a muscle and can be fatal. Symptoms include swelling, pain and tenderness in the legs. Risk factors include immobility, hormone therapy and pregnancy.

DVT can occur anywhere in the body but are most commonly found in the deep veins of the legs, thighs and pelvis. It can occur in rare cases, in the upper extremities usually because of injury or catheter (tube) or peripheral.

A deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a disease in which a blood clot (thrombus) forms in a deep vein system.

Thrombophlebitis is a condition in which inflammation and blood clot in a vein. Can be superficial or deep thrombophlebitis in the veins. Superficial thrombophlebitis occurs in veins near the surface of the skin and usually causes pain, swelling and redness at the site of the vein. Superficial thrombosisbophlebitis is usually treated with heat, affect the amount of leg or arm, and anti-inflammatory. DVT is a much bigger problem than in a superficial vein. The reason is that a portion of the blood clot in the deep veins of a DVT can break off and travel through the deep veins to the heart and eventually be pumped by the heart into the arteries of the lungs. When this happens, the condition is called pulmonary embolism (PE). The clot is called (plural emboli embolism), and the process of the break and travel to the lungs as emboli.

I think it would be wise to be investigated by your doctor. There can be many causes of these symptoms. Keep your legs raised for a while and try to get some relief from this situation. I would like about what it takes to discuss pain with your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.
