White/off white coated tongue in a severe alcoholic? - white coating on tongue more condition_symptoms

My best friend is a severe alcoholic who drank more a case of beer a day or more during the last 10 years. He always has cotton mouth and a white layer of language is painless, the drink that causes discoloration of the tongue? It was not bad air. Is this normal in alcoholics?

seems to make little sense, but it was probably severe dehydration because of all the alcohol they consume. If you really need to drink this way ten years, probably as liver cirrhosis, which kill him quickly. he really is his best friend to help him before they have to say goodbye.
